Les Coteaux Côtes du Rhône Villages 75cl

A deep ruby-purple colour, this wine opens with aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and red plum, accented by notes of dried herbs, black pepper, and a touch of warm spice.

On the palate it is medium to full-bodied with generous fruit wrapped in supple tannins.  Layers of garrigue, liquorice and a stony minerality add complexity, while a fresh line of acidity brings balance.  The finish is long and savoury, leaving a lingering impression of spice and dark fruits.

Les Coteaux is a classic blend of Grenache and Syrah sourced from selected parcels in the southern Rhône's Villages, where old vines rooted in stony, sun-drenched soils deliver concentaration and depth.

Food Pairing: A delicious accompaniment to hearty food: grilled meats, meaty sausages with mash or, as would be served in France, with puy lentils; shepherd's pie, mushroom ragoût or simply a good pizza.
